Cheryl Browns is a Fresno lawyer with Borton Petrini, LLP. Cheryl graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Science in Business Law in 1990 and received her Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 1994. She became a member of the California Bar Association in 1994.
Cheryl is a member of the Family Law sections of the Fresno County Bar Association. Cheryl has served as Judge Pro Tempore with the Fresno County Superior Court from 1999 – Present. Cheryl is a prior member of the Judicial Evaluations Selection Advisory Committee serving from 2013 until June 2022.
Cheryl is active in the local community, volunteering over the years at local and state organizations such as Volunteers for Parole and the Keep Kids in School Program.
Cheryl served on the Fresno County Bar Association’s Board of Directors for twelve years, acted as the Chair for the Fresno County Bar Association’s Mandatory Fee Arbitration Program, as the Chair of the Fresno County Bar Association’s Attorney Referral Service, and as an editor of the Fresno County Bar Association’s Bar Bulletin.
Cheryl is also a court appointed attorney for terminations of parental rights cases, contempt actions and as minor’s counsel.
Cheryl enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and scuba diving.
