Tamie L. Cummins is a Partner of the Modesto office of Borton Petrini, LLP and manages the Borton Petrini, LLP Modesto and Fresno offices as well as Family Law and Bankruptcy Divisions for the State of California. She is actively involved in her legal community and serves on the Stanislaus County Bar Association. She is also a member of Family Law Section.

Tamie received her undergraduate degree from the University of the Pacific in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a minor in Pre-Law. She received her Juris Doctorate from Laurence Drivon School of Law, Humphrey’s College in 2007, where she served as the President of the Student Bar Association.

Tamie, a Certified Family Law Specialist, is a Modesto lawyer practicing in Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and Merced Counties with an emphasis on dissolution of marriage, legal separations, property division, child custody, child visitation, child support, spousal support, post judgment issues, step-parent adoptions,

non-relative adoptions, guardianship cases, and premarital agreements, also referred to as prenuptial agreements.

As a Modesto lawyer, Tamie provides a variety of services in divorce cases designed to meet the needs of the clients she represents including mediation when appropriate and strenuous advocacy when necessary.

She utilizes her contacts and training with experts in the field including—but not limited to—child custody and visitation to help and/or protect children during difficult transitions and to promote healthy boundaries in family relations while divorcing parents navigate through their separation whether she is mediating a case or advocating against opposing counsel and/or an unrepresented party in or out of court.

Tamie also practices bankruptcy law as a Modesto lawyer, representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings in the Eastern District of California.

Other practice areas within the Borton Petrini law firm provides Tamie with the resources and experience she may need in areas of real property, estate planning, tax law, business, and/or civil litigation when developing legal and practical strategies to meet her clients’ needs.

Tamie is married to Mike Cummins and they have five children, James, Dana, Chris, Emily and Michael, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her family and traveling.
