G. Kelley ReidPartnerSan Francisco Office G. Kelley Reid, Jr. is a Partner in the San Francisco office of Borton Petrini, LLP. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Iowa and Florida State University, and earned his J.D. from University of Florida College of Law in 1968. He is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to his admittance to the State Bar of California and Florida State Bar, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and is an arbitrator for the San Francisco Superior Court. As a JAG officer in the USAF, prior to joining Borton Petrini, LLP, Kelley served both as a prosecuting and defense attorney, handling various cases, obtaining favorable verdicts on behalf of his clients. He was a partner with LaFollette, Johnson, DeHaas, Fesler, Silberberg & Ames in San Francisco and gained extensive experience in preparation and trial of civil defense litigation, including automobile, products liability, toxic torts, construction, professional liability (architect, engineer, legal and medical), construction accidents and premises liability, and the defense of security guards. Kelley’s legal expertise at Borton Petrini, LLP is primarily focused on insurance law, health care law, real estate and construction law. Within the area of health care, he has represented rehabilitation hospitals and facilities through sundry insurance carriers. He has handled construction defect cases and disputes between neighbors involving encroachments, adverse possession, trespass and easements. As a former mayor and council member of the Town of Ross, California, Kelley has gained vast experience in public entity cases and land use planning during his tenure. Kelley finds that membership in professional organizations keeps him abreast of the constant changes in the legal world. He is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel for Northern California and Nevada, Defense Research Institute, and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He has served as Judge Pro-Tem for the San Francisco Superior Court, as a contract advisor for the National Football League Players Association, and currently sits on the governing board of the Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital. Kelley is married to Mary Robinson Reid, and they have three sons. |
