Heather A. Rogers is an associate attorney in the San Diego office of Borton Petrini, LLP.  Heather is a San Diego native and received her undergraduate degree from UC San Diego in 2011.  Following undergrad, Heather moved to San Francisco where she studied for her Master of Arts at San Francisco State University and afterward attended University of San Francisco School of Law from where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2017 and was admitted to the California State Bar that same year.

In law school, Heather studied maritime and environmental law and served as President of the university’s Environmental Law Student and Alumni Society, Symposium Chair of the 2017 California Water Law Symposium, and Literary Editor for the University of San Francisco’s Maritime Law Journal.  She received the CALI Excellence Award for her academic success in International Law – China and its Neighbors and Antitrust Law & IP Rights.

Following law school, and prior to joining Borton Petrini, LLP, Heather worked as an associate attorney in Los Angeles where she practiced civil defense and admiralty and maritime law in both  litigation and non-litigation matters.  Heather externed with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Torts Branch, Admiralty Section in San Francisco and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.  She also completed two international externships – one with the U.S. Commercial Service at the United States Embassy in Santiago, Chile, and the other with Ernst & Young (EY) in Mexico City, Mexico.

Heather is an avid traveler – during undergrad she spent a year studying abroad in Spain at both the Universidad de Córdoba and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.  Her recent travels have been in and around Europe, Central American, South America and Asia.  In her free time, Heather actively participates in marathons, hiking and ocean kayaking.
