Dennis Avilucea, Jr. is an attorney in the San Jose office of Borton Petrini, LLP. Dennis was born and raised in San Jose, California. He received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 2015. Much of his experience since graduating from law school has been in personal injury and insurance defense. However, he has also spent time in family law, immigration law, and criminal law.

While he is just beginning his career Dennis has gained valuable experience in numerous categories of legal matters. During law school Dennis interned with the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe where he learned about Tribal Law and dealt directly with Tribal leaders. Dennis’ other civil law experience includes matters involving trade secrets, property rights, and appellate work.

Dennis has also defended misdemeanor and felony criminal cases in counties all around the Bay Area. In addition to appearing in court Dennis has also drafted criminal appeals and has argued multiple cases in front of the Appellate Panels in the Northern District.

Dennis is a member of the California State Bar Association and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

In addition to the practice of law Dennis is passionate about the sport of rugby. He has actively played and coached for 15 years with various clubs throughout the Bay Area and Boston including the San Jose State Rugby Club, the San Jose Seahawks, the Suffolk Law Rugby Club, and the Old Gold Rugby Football Club.
