Brandon Martin is an attorney in the Bakersfield office of Borton Petrini, LLP. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000 graduating summa cum laude and with departmental highest honors.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003.

While in law school, Brandon worked with the Samuelson Law and Technology Clinic helping develop legal structures that are still used throughout the world in the practice of internet law today.  He also worked with the House Ways and Means Committee of the United States Congress on early legislation protecting privacy and regulating the use of social security identification numbers by online businesses.

Brandon returns to practice with Borton Petrini, LLP after having practiced with Paul Hastings and Brownstein Hyatt, two of the world’s largest land use, environmental law, and real estate practices.  While at those firms, Brandon assisted with the second largest real estate transaction in American history for the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund, helped entitle expansions to the famed Dreamworks Animation Studio, the Cedar Sanai Hospital, and the Getty Museum.  Mr. Martin focused on real estate and development law in general and the California Environmental Quality Act, in particular.

Brandon has served as the Chairman of the Kern County Planning Commission and continues to work with developers to help transform the built environment of the Central Valley.

Brandon is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California.  His primary emphasis at Borton Petrini, LLP is civil ligation, including insurance defense, personal injury, premises liability, and product defect.

In his spare time, Brandon enjoys hiking with his family, street photography, and supporting CSU Bakersfield’s Roadrunner Athletics.
